10th Annual Student Art Contest
BI student & residents K to 12 can enter up to three pieces. There is a $5 entry fee per piece. Everything takes place at the Pavilion on one day. Register: 9:30 to 11:30 am. Open Exhibit: Noon to 5 pm. Award Ceremony: 5 pm. There are cash prizes for all 7 age divisions, plus a “Best of Show,” and every entrant gets a ribbon. will discuss the topic "From the Screen in Your Mind to the Page in Your Hands" at
the monthly Writers' Roundtable.. Free and open to writers of all levels and interests.
Flacco has written true crime, historical fiction, and a writers' guide to publishing
nonfiction. He has also worked as a screenwriter for Touchstone Pictures and a documentary

Bainbridge Parks sponsors monthly Weed / Restoration Work Events at parks across the Island. These events, rain or shine 10 to noon every 3rd Saturday, benefit our parks but also help build community and stewardship. All are invited to attend. Work for 2010 is primarily removal of non native plants but in the last months there will be replanting of native species. Parks provides tools and guidance. Participants should have sturdy shoes, gloves, and their favorite tool. Share your time and contribute to our Island parks!

Tour of Architects
Two days, two unique tours. View stunning examples of architecture, including historic renovations, green technology, budget remodels and new construction. On Sunday, you will view a lodge overlooking historic petroglyphs, an adaptive reuse example of an old store - converted into a stunning artist studio, a home designed for Platinum LEED designation, his and hers artist studios, a timberframe construction, a modern construction with green and sustainable design - incorporating historic site references, and more. Architects will be on hand at each location to answer questions and talk about your upcoming projects. Growing a Landscape for our Native Butterflies, Bees & Birds
Naturalist, botanist and ecologist, Stewart Wechsler, will discuss what we can do to slow the decline and turn the tide to protect and restore some of this natural heritage. Children's 2010 Egg Scramble
This annual Bainbridge Parks event opens at 10:00 for 4-H petting zoo and photo ops with the big Bunny. The hunt for candy and prize eggs begins promptly at 11:00, with separate hunting grounds and appropriate treats for various age groups:1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-12. This event is held rain or shine at Waterfront Park.
